ギヨム・ボタジ Guillaume Bottazzi - 10 ans après Fukushima

"HOPE 2011" a tribute to Japan’s Earthquake and Tsunami Victims March 2011. "HOPE 2011" fut un événement majeur consacré à l’artiste Guillaume Bottazzi dont les travaux ornent désormais le Miyanomori International Museum of Art (MIMAS). L’événement a eu lieu du 16 septembre au 27 novembre 2011 et a comporté plusieurs volets : une exposition, la réalisation de la plus grande peinture du Japon sur le musée et un programme de rencontres avec l’artiste.
"HOPE 2011" un hommage aux victimes du tsunami et du séisme
Guillaume Bottazzi qui a séjourné au Japon à de nombreuses reprises a été très affecté par l’impact terrible du séisme et du tsunami qui ont dévasté le Japon en mars 2011. La décision de reconstruire le musée et de demander à Guillaume Bottazzi de s’associer à ce message d’espoir qu’est cette renaissance du musée prouve que l’art contemporain peut stimuler le courage en montrant la voie de la reconstruction. Cette oeuvre pérenne a permis d’augmenter la visibilité du musée et de porter ce message à l’échelle internationale. Les entrées payantes de l’exposition ont été versées à un fonds destiné aux victimes du tsunami et du séisme au Japon pour la reconstruction des zones touchées.

ギヨム・ボタジ Guillaume Bottazzi - 10 years after Fukushima

"HOPE 2011” was the title of a major event open by the Miyanomori International Museum of Art to the French artist Guillaume Bottazzi whose work adorns the museum since then. The cultural event took place from September 16th to November 27th 2011. It was presented in several forms : an exhibition, the public execution of permanent painting and meetings with the artist.

Guillaume Bottazzi who has stayed in Japan on many occasions felt a strong concern for the horrifying impact of the earthquake and tsunami that devastated Japan in March 2011. To overcome this disaster people needed positive motivational inducement to help them to stand up and go ahead again. The decision to rebuilt the museum and ask the great European artist to be associated to this revival, proved that contemporary art can spur Japanese’s revival by showing the way of boldness and courage. Few months later after the natural disaster, the decision of the Miyanomori International Museum of Art to renovate the museum and prepare it as a base for Guillaume Bottazzi’s performance, was a clear proof that art is capable of leading a new Japan. The main purpose of the exhibition was to provide a large scale program of support to Japan victims of tsunami and earthquake. A part of admissions fees to the exhibition has been given for the reconstruction of affected areas from the earthquake.

FR : La Galerie Itsutsuji est une galerie majeure du Japon. Elle a introduit des mouvements comme le groupe Supports/Surfaces, dont Claude Viallat, Louis Cane, Daniel Dezeuze et Jean-Pierre Pincemin, mais aussi d’autres artistes comme Pierre Buraglio, Gérard Titus-Carmel, François Rouan, Jean-Michel Meurice, Guillaume Bottazzi, Simon Hantaï et Pierre Soulages. M. Itsutsuji a été fait Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres par la France, sous l’initiative du musée du Jeu de Paume.

EN : Guillaume Bottazzi works with the Itsutsuji Gallery since 2006.Itsutsuji gallery is a major gallery in Japan. It is well known to have introduced Support-Surfaces artists such as Claude Viallat, Louis Cane, Daniel Dezeuze, Jean-Pierre Pincemin, and other artists : Pierre Buraglio, François Rouan, Gérard Titus-Carmel, Jean-Michel Meurice, Guillaume Bottazzi, Simon Hantaï and Pierre Soulages. M. Itsutsuji was knighted by the French Government “Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres.”
