“HOPE 2011” is the title of a major event open for the Miyanomori Art Museum to the French artist Guillaume Bottazzi whose work will soon adorn the facade.The cultural event will take place from September 16th to November 13th 2011. It will be presented in several forms : an exhibition, the public execution of a mural painting, cultural mediation.

The exhibition

The Miyanomori Art Museum will organize an exhibition of paintings oil on canvas, paper, drawings and multimedia packages with different aspects of the work than the artist made in the studio or on specific sites in the urban space. This exhibition will allow visitors to enter and understand the world of his painting. It will include 14 paintings, most of them having been exhibited in Europe, or from his studio or on loan from private collections.The largest reaches 290 cm x190 cm. 

Wall painting performing

For that purpose the building will be entirely renewed, meaning to be become like a white page which will give the artist a bright scope to compose his unique idea and creation.Guillaume Bottazzi will give a public performance with the achievement of a wall painting of 900 square meters on the front side, and on the north and east facades of the museum as well. (time to complete this work will take about a month and a half). The French artist has already achieved more than 30 monumental wall paintings outdoors on public or private buildings. He will be working alone, 

which represent a unique combination of physical and artistic performance. The technique of Bottazzi is not different from what he practices in the workshop and visitors will admire the meticulous work of the artist using only his brush as tool. Thus the building will be transformed before their eyes, day after day.

Cultural mediation

Educational support meetings will be organized with the artist in partnership with local associations, schools, organizations. During the process of the artist's painting lectures, workshops, commented visits, exchanges with audiences of all ages will take place. The organized cultural mediation has for first vocation the public awareness about artistic creation and, particularly, with contemporary art.

The contents of these meetings or workshops will be elaborated according to needs and objectives defined with the partner structures. HOPE 2011 a tribute to Japan's Earthquake and Tsunami Victims 2011. Guillaume Bottazzi who has stayed in Japan on many occasions felt a strong concern for the horrifying impact of the earthquake and tsunami that devastated Japan in March 2011. To overcome this disaster people need motivators to help them to stand up and go ahead again. The decision to rebuilt the museum and ask the great European artist to be associated at this revival, prove that contemporary art can spur Japanese’s revival by showing the way of boldness and courage.

The decision of Miyanomori Museum, tonly few months later after the natural disaster to renovate and prepare it as a base for the performance of Guilaume Bottazzi, is a clear proof that art is capable of leading a new Japan. The mainpurpose of the exhibition is to provide a large scale program of support to Japan victims of tsunami and earthquake. A big part of admissions fees to the exhibition will be give for the reconstruction of affected areas from the earthquake.

«HOPE 2011" est le titre d'un événement majeur consacré à l'artiste français Guillaume Bottazzi dont les travaux orneront bientôt la façade du Myanomori Museum. L'événement aura lieu du 16 Septembre au 13 Novembre 2011 et comportera plusieurs volets : une exposition, la réalisation en public d'une peinture murale sur les façades du musée, un programme d'actions de médiation culturelle

L'exposition

Le Miyanomori Museum accueillera des oeuvres de l'artiste : peintures à l'huile sur toile, papier, dessins et montages multimédia représentant les différents aspects du travail de l'artiste en studio ou sur des sites spécifiques dans l'espace urbain. Cette exposition permettra aux visiteurs de saisir et de comprendre le monde de sa peinture. Elle comprendra 14 toiles , la plupart d'entre elles ayant été exposées en Europe ou prêtées par des collectionneurs privés. La plus grande atteint 2 mx2m 

La performance in situ : création d'une peinture murale

Pendant l'exposition, Guillaume Bottazzi réalisera une peinture murale de 900 m² sur les façades Nord et Est du musée (lce travail prendra environ un mois et demi). L'artiste qui a déjà réalisé plus de 30 peintures murales monumentales en extérieur sur les bâtiments publics ou privés va travailler seul, ce qui représente une performance tout à la fois physique et artistique. La technique utilisée n'est pas différente de ce qu'il pratique en atelier et les visiteurs pourront admirer le travail minutieux de l'artiste avec son seul pinceau comme outil. C'est ainsi que le bâtiment dont le propriétaire a fait restaurer la façade pour qu'elle apparaisse comme une page blanche offerte à l'artiste, sera transformé sous leurs yeux, jour après jour. 

La médiation culturelle

En partenariat avec des associations locales, écoles, organisations, des actions de médiation culturelle seront organisée avec l'artiste. Conférences, ateliers, visites commentées, échanges avec des publics de tous âges peuvent avoir lieu pendant le déroulement de la performance. La médiation culturelle organisée a pour vocation première la sensibilisation du public sur la création artistique et, surtout, avec l'art contemporain.

Le contenu de ces rencontres et ateliers sera élaboré en fonction des besoins et des objectifs définis avec les structures partenaires. ESPOIR 2011 un hommage aux victimes du tsunami et du séisme

Guillaume Bottazzi qui a séjourné au Japon à de nombreuses reprises a été très affecté par l'impact terrible du séisme et du tsunami qui ont dévasté le Japon en mars 2011. La décision de reconstruire le musée et demander à un grand artiste européen de s'associer à ce message d'espoir qu'est cette renaissance du musée prouvent que l'art contemporain peut stimuler le courage en montrant la voie de la reconstruction. La rénovation du musée, la performance de Guilaume Bottazzi, invité à travailler à cette rénovation seront porteurs de ce message Enfin, les entrées payantes à l'exposition seront versées à un fonds destiné aux victimes au Japon ot tsunami et du séisme pour la reconstruction des zones touchées par le séisme.
